A couple of months ago, I got caught up in the hype on Twitter over a beauty box collaboration between UK-based subscription box company Glossybox and the massive make up empire that is NARS.

It was all down to the marketing. There was a big announcement, there would be a limited amount available, followed by an opportunity to get your name on a waiting list to buy it on the day of release. Cue follow up emails to remind you to ‘set you alarm clock’ for 9am the next morning. You can go home now Glossybox Marketing, job done, I was sold and I had to have it!

I paid £38.25 (Approx. €54.00) including delivery for my box of NARS goodies. Steep to say the least, but it was unlikely I would part with my hard-earned cash to purchase all of these products in their full-sized form.

So what was in the box?!

NARS Audacious Mascara (3ml)

A good travel sized mascara with a rubber wand, boasting a mixture of long and short bristles, along with lengthening hooks to transform lashes in one sweep! This is NARS’ latest mascara offering, with a full-sized product setting you back about €26. My opinion; I don’t absolutely love it! It most certainly makes a difference to lashes, but not necessarily in the way I usually like. I found the formula made my lashes a bit spidery and crunchy. I also noticed a bit of flaking by the end of a long day. Not awful, just not amazing enough to pull me a way from my beloved Benefit Roller Lash.

NARS Satin Lip Pencil (1.7g)

This is a dinky little satin lip colour in the shade Rikugien, a dusty rose shade that is perfect for a subtle hint of colour. This glides on like a dream, it’s creamy and feels like satin once applied to lips. Although the creamy feeling just doesn’t last, it set’s very quickly and feels a bit drying. A full-sized version of the Satin Lip Pencil will set you back €26, which I personally wouldn’t pay for this product. A handy size to have in your handbag for a hint of colour while out and about, but it didn’t rock my world unfortunately.

NARS The Multiple (4g)

Absolutely thrilled to receive this in my Glossybox! A full-sized version of this costs €41, so I was delighted to try this without the expense. ‘The Multiple’, does what it says, multiple uses. It can be used on cheekbones, lips, eyes and body. The shade in this Glossybox was Orgasm and it is the most beautiful shade of pink with a subtle gold shimmer. Easy to use, just like a crayon. This was a winning addition to this edition of Glossybox, I absolutely love it for adding a healthy glow to my skin. Thumbs up from me!

NARS Blush (3.5g)

Described as the ‘perfect partner in crime for The Multiple’, this powder blush in the shade Orgasm is nothing short of divine! Just like The Multiple, NARS are renowned for their blushes, not to mention their suggestive shade names! And this is nothing short of fab, I’ve been wearing it everyday for the past few months and I love the pretty and natural flush it gives my cheeks. Winner! A full-sized version of this retails for €30.

NARS Larger than Life long-wear Eyeliner (0.3g)

Rounding off the box of NARS treats, is this long wear pencil eyeliner in Via Veneto, a true deep shade of black. I’ve moved away from pencil eyeliner’s, but this one is absolutely lovely. It’s smooth and creamy and does not budge! If you are looking for something that’s going to last through a workday or through a big night out, then this is a pretty good shout. It claims to last 12 hours without smudging and smearing and comes in a whole heap of shades to suit whatever look you are trying to achieve. These retail for €25.

So that’s the lot! I was pretty happy with my Glossybox for NARS. If I were to repurchase any of these products it would be The Multiple and the Blush. As I said, it was expensive, but a fantastic way to try out these high-end make up products, for a fraction of the price. I wonder what other collaborations Glossybox have up their sleeve, definitely one to watch.

All these products are available from NARS counters in a large range of shades.

Do let me know if you have tried any of the NARS products and your thoughts!
