This product launched last year and I recall being really intrigued by it, but alas I never got around to trying it. Until Summer suddenly arrived in Dublin and I realised pale, corned beef skin was not a good look for me. This product gets mixed reviews online, but I saw some really impressive before and after photos that convinced me I needed to try this. So I forked out €19.99 for the St Tropez In-Shower Gradual Tan and hoped for an overnight miracle. In theory, it sounds like a bizarre idea, an in-shower tan? Baffling!
Recently I cackled my cockles off watching the gals over at Lovely Girlie Bits vlogging about what they recommend purchasing with those No7 vouchers you get in Boots every other week. Fair play to Boots and No7, those vouchers come up so regularly, if you were an avid No7 user you would be set for a lifetime of affordable beauty treats. I am one of the million people who are guilty of throwing the vouchers into my bag and forgetting about them, or sometimes just not knowing why to redeem them against! For anyone not familiar, the infamous N07 vouchers come in two parts, €6.50 off No7 skin care and €4 off No7 make-up.
After watching Joanne and Karen over at Lovely Girlie Bits and a bit of product research, I went on the hunt for the No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Radiance Boost. Suitable for all skin types (even sensitive skin, due to the hypoallergenic formula), this product claims to have you waking up to brighter and more radiant skin. It’s designed to boost the power of your usual beauty sleep and acts as a powerful pick-me-up for your skin. I’ve had a busy and tiresome few weeks and I felt my skin bearing the brunt of it. I was getting breakouts that I wouldn’t usually experience and my skin was looking dull and lacklustre. Time for reinforcements! It contains a blend of multivitamins, minerals, natural vitamin C and caffeine that promise to hydrate, energize, mildly exfoliate and renew the skin surface, hence boosting the natural radiance of your beautiful face! 🙂
It comes in a 30ml plastic bottle with a pump, that boasts the simple and classic No7 packaging that the brand is known for. The product itself once dispensed is a thin, white liquid that turns clear once massaged into skin. It is silky and has that lovely clean cosmetic smell that you would associate with other No7 products. A non greasy formula that is absorbed beautifully and super quickly into skin, this is a dream to use on freshly cleansed skin at the end of a long day!
So the big question is, did it deliver? I can’t say I woke up with overwhelmingly radiant skin. Between panda eyes, pillow marks on my face and hair that resembles a nest, it’s a regular occurence that I look like ‘the wild woman from Borneo’ first thing in the morning and this product ain’t promising to work miracles! That said, I do find my skin looks more even and plump upon waking after using this product. Where I do see the radiance is during the day. After washing my face and applying make-up, I’m pretty happy with how my skin is looking after using this product recently. I would certainly recommend it as a lovely skin boost and would be happy to re-purchase.
The No7 Beautiful Skin Overnight Radiance Boost will set you back €19.50 usually, with my €6.50 voucher I only forked out €13.00 for this lovely skin treat. Not sure I’d pay the regular price for it, but the vouchers come up so regularly, I would expect that I would rarely have to! It’s available from Boots online and in store. So next time you find yourself with a No7 voucher or just fancy a little skin treat, this is definitely one to try!
While the thought of walking into TKMaxx can break some people out in hives, I don’t mind it so much. I noticed over the past year or so it has become a treasure trove for a beauty junkie like myself, with some amazing hair, make up and skin care products on offer and at excellent prices!
Last week was particularly special in terms of beauty bargains, when I picked up four little gems that any beauty lover would appreciate! Continue reading
I’m always on the hunt for my holy grail mascara. NYX Doll Eye Mascara was really holding up the trophy for a while there, but ever the indecisive gal that I am, I like to keep trying new things.
You only need to skim through my blog to recognise my undying love for Benefit, I’m a big fan of this brand. My make up bag contains a good few of their products. With regard mascara, I have tried their Bad Gal mascara in the past, which I liked. The wand is very big, but it’s a good mascara. I have also tried the They’re Real mascara, which I will admittedly say was NOT my cup of tea, not a fan.
Recently I purchased Benefit’s new mascara; Roller Lash. It was love at first sight with this mascara, with its cute pink and black packaging and textured rubber handle that looks like a hair roller. Dotey, Benefit packaging at it’s best! The wand is an interesting shape and on first inspection the product didn’t cling in lumps to the wand bristles. I knew from then that we would get along famously!
Roller Lash Mascara is simply a roller for your lashes! There is no need to use traditional eye lash curlers, this product does all the lifting and curling for you. That’s one less make up tool to carry around in your make up bag! Benefit has created their unique Hook ‘n’ Roll™ brush, that grabs and separates lashes, giving them instant lift and curl. The formula holds for 12 hours, meaning you can bat those Bambi lashes at whomever you please, morning, noon and night!
The Roller Lash formula contains Pro-vitamin B5 and Serin, which offers super lash conditioning benefits. It comes in one shade, ink black and is water-resistant. It is also very easily removed with any traditional eye make up remover or cleanser. Thankfully unlike the They’re Real Mascara, which is a god forsaken curse to remove with a traditional eye make up remover! (P.S. Benefit sell a special They’re Real eye make up remover that does the trick, yay!).
My verdict…I LOVE ROLLER LASH! While upon purchase I told myself that I needed another mascara like ‘a hole in the head’, I’m really glad I parted with my cash for this. Roller Lash really delivers. I could easily bin my eyelash curler, in place of this. It does a fantastic job of separating, curling and lifting lashes. It doesn’t flake, it doesn’t leave lashes clumpy, crunchy or spidery and it last’s and last’s. I apply my make up around 8:30am, by the time I get home from work around 7pm my lashes are still ‘standing’, the curl has not dropped and the colour has not faded. The lasting power is wonderful! Benefit are on to a real winner here! If you are in the market for a new mascara and you like your lashes to look lifted and curled, then I would highly recommend Roller Lash!
Holy grail status? Perhaps, perhaps, perhaps….
Benefit’s Roller Lash Mascara is priced at €26 and is available from Benefit counter’s nationwide.

I’d been longing to sign up to a beauty box subscription for quite a while now. However, with so many different companies, offering different types of subscriptions, paired with good and bad reviews, it can be hard to choose which one is the best value for money! I’ve read numerous helpful reviews from my fellow bloggers, giving the low down on each. I finally came to a conclusion, my beauty box subscription of choice would be – CHIC TREAT CLUB! I signed up for a 3 month subscription which cost €44.95 (including delivery). Chic Treat Club is also an Irish company, which I’m delighted about. Support Irish businesses where you can!
So what do you get for your money? You get a beautifully wrapped box of five beauty products, a detailed guide to the products and delivery by courier right to your door. Sounds like my type of treat 🙂
Also, the courier will text you prior to delivery giving you an estimate two-hour window in which they will deliver. Very handy! There’s nothing worse than waiting in all day for someone to arrive ‘between 9am and 6pm’!!
My box of treats arrived compactly packaged in a Chic Treat Club branded cardboard box. When I opened it, I began to ooh and ahh at the cute little yellow box with the mint green Chic Treat Club logo that greeted me.The ooh’s and ahh’s continued as I opened the magnetic flap to reveal some grey tissue paper wrapped in pink ribbon. When I untied the pink ribbon, I was greeted with 5 full size products nestled on a bed of crinkly pink shredded paper. So far, so good, I’m sold on the packaging alone!
So let’s have a look at the goods shall we?
1. Sleek Eye Dust
I’ve heard about this brand quite a lot lately, but I haven’t managed to get my hands on their products yet, UNTIL NOW! This is a gorgeous shimmer eye shadow dust. I got the shade ‘Vintage’, which lucky for me is right up my street. It’s a beautiful brownish-gold shade, exactly the type of colour I wear when it comes to eye make up. This is perfect for a big night out or a party!
Sleek Eye Dust retails at €3.99.
2. Waxperts Ingrown Hair Pads
Waxperts are an Irish waxing salon based in Dublin. These ingrown hair pads are a great little trick for anyone that waxes or shaves and is prone to ingrown hairs and those horrible lumps and bumps you can sometimes end up with around your ‘lady garden’. They advise that you wait to use these at least 24 hours after waxing or at 12 hours after shaving. You simply rub them on to the affected area daily and they claim to remove ingrown hairs after a few days of use. The pads also contain salicylic acid, an ingredient often used in treatment for acne.
Waxperts Ingrown Hair Pads retail at €7.99.
3. Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic
Formulated to soothe tired feet, this foot cream contains cocoa butter, vitamin E, mango butter and cooling peppermint oil. This foot cream will moisturise those rough, dry trotters leaving you floating on air with soft and supple tootsies! It also smells gorgeous. Perfect for cooling down tired hooves after a busy day!
Palmers Cocoa Butter Formula Foot Magic retails at €4.99.
4. Bia Beauty Lemon Myrtle Hand Cream
So now that we have the trotters sorted, time to move on to the paws! Bia Beauty is an Irish company that make all their own products on site in Cork. OOOH this is lovely! I love fresh lemony smells and this hand creams is exactly what I like. Clean, fresh and yummy! Packed with bee’s wax, shea butter, Calendula, almond and lemon myrtle essential oils, this is a really nourishing treat for your mitts. It comes in a generous 60ml jar, perfect for beside your bed or in your desk drawer.
Bia Beauty Lemon Myrtle Hand Cream retails at €14.99.
5. Dream Water
Ok, this product is certainly unusual and not necessarily something I expected in my box of treats. Dream Water is a lemon flavoured blend of natural ingredients, that promises to relax the body and mind, aiding a restful nights sleep. An odd addition to the Chic Treat Club box, the product leaves me a bit confused. I would have preferred something else in place of Dream Water, but I’ll be sure to give it a go some night when counting sheep just won’t do!
Dream water retails at €2.99.
The total of the products in the box comes to the value of €34.95, a real bargain considering my monthly subscription costs just under €15.00!
So, my overall verdict of my first Chic Treat Club box…An eclectic blend of products, some of which I probably wouldn’t usually buy myself, but some really nice bits in there! I’m happy enough. I think the box of treats is very good value for money. It gives the customer the opportunity to support Irish businesses, try new products and maybe pay more attention to those beauty chores we often neglect. I’m looking at you foot cream and ingrown hair pads!
